This page is intended to provide an explanation of the concepts of register machine memory architectures, especially the Von Neumann Architecture, the Harvard Architecture, and the hybrid Modified Harvard Architecture (the latter being the basis for most modern demand-paged memory systems), as well as issues such as paging versus segmentation.
