Andy abhors monolithic kernels like Linux, Windows or BSD. He rather writes a carefully designed little kernel that does some basic stuff and leaves the rest for user space.

Pro's & Con's

Pro:

  • easier to maintain

Con:

  • more overhead
  • harder to program
