Windows NT (New Technology) is an operating system kernel that began development at Microsoft in the late 1980s, originally for the Intel i860 microprocessor. NT is considered to be descended from VMS, as the original NT team was led by Dave Cutler. NT is also related to the MICA kernel, another kernel developed by Dave Cutler.
