There is a well-populated operating systems development IRC channel on Libera (irc.libera.chat) at #osdev. Several regular contributors to the OSDev.org wiki and forums are usually present in the channel, and the channel has over twenty years of history from its previous iteration on Freenode - it even predates this wiki by several years!▼
